Microsoft has introduced a new update for Xbox, bringing the activity feed to the Xbox app for iOS and Android platforms in the form of stories.
Xbox Stories: Sharing Gaming Moments
With this update, users can now create, share, and view stories with their friends directly within the Xbox app. Additionally, users can add priority tags for console gaming experiences with Quality of Service (QoS) Tagging.
Quality of Service (QoS) Tagging
According to Kristen Mann, Principal Group Program Manager of Xbox Experiences, QoS tagging is a new service for Xbox consoles that prioritizes latency-sensitive outbound networking traffic, such as party chat, console streaming, and multiplayer. This feature aims to safeguard the gaming experience from connection issues during times of network congestion on supported networks.
Sharing Your Favorite Moments
Users can share their favorite gaming moments, including game clips, screenshots, and achievements, with their friends and the wider Xbox community. Furthermore, users have the option to reply to their friends’ stories with messages or quick reactions.
How to Create a Story
The stories channel is conveniently located on the home screen of the Xbox app. To create a story, users can click the “+” button on their gamertag within the stories channel. From there, they can select the desired game clip, screenshot, or achievement from their gallery.
After selecting the content, users will be directed to a story preview page where they can add a caption before posting. Once satisfied, users can click the post button located on the bottom right to share their story.
Accessibility and Visibility
The stories channel displays content from the last 72 hours. Any content shared via stories is also posted to the user’s activity feed on their profile, ensuring visibility among friends and followers.
With Xbox Stories, users can now seamlessly share their gaming experiences and achievements, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie within the Xbox ecosystem.
